EDUCATOR
Shane West excelled throughout school. An honor student who was on a mission to prove he was just as great, if not greater, in the classroom as he was on the hardwood.
Sought after for his achievements on and off the court, Shane attended and played basketball for Princeton Day School and St. Benedict’s Preparatory, two academic powerhouses in New Jersey. However his greatest lessons would come from the school of hard knocks. Despite his academic success, poor decisions and missed opportunities led him down a path of drugs, violence, and crime, and eventually a 10 year federal prison sentence.
While incarcerated he participated in a drug program that would change his life forever. The Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) provided positive-thinking tools and principles that challenged his old way of thinking and got him back on the right path. He was selected “Mr. RDAP” by his peers as the person who best internalized the program, and became a respected mentor to others in the program.
Shane will share the lessons learned during his life of crime and incarceration, and the methods and practices he used to turn his life around. Participants will receive the tools to help them become better decision makers, and help them avoid the same poor decisions he made.
If you want your athletes, employees, and/or students to change their lives and perform better, they must first change their thinking. Gripping, smart and resourceful, Shane’s programs will help you jumpstart that change to a better you.
